Stanley Merves for Lower Merion
Township Treasurer
Three words summarize Stanley Merves: solid,
trustworthy and experienced. Stanley
has been a CPA for over 50 years and has worked for several accounting
firms, the IRS and has been self-employed.
He graduated from Temple University, attended the U.S. Treasury
Agent’s School, and served as Director and Chair of the Audit
Committee of the Franklin Mint and on the Energy Advisory Committee of
the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare.
He has been the Treasurer for Temple Adath Isreal, Director of
the Abrahmson Center for Jewish Life, and on the Advisory Boards of
Eldernet of Lower Merion & Narberth and the American Red Cross, to
name a few. He is also
Trustee for Bryn Mawr Hospital and
serves as Treasurer for the Harriton Association. Currently, Stanley is a financial consultant, business
advisor and professional trustee. He is on Lower Merion Township’s
Civil Service Commission and has been its Chairman for the last ten
years. Stanley is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the
Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs, the Chairman’s Club of the
Republican Committee of Lower Merion & Narberth and the Haverford
Civic Association. As our
Treasurer, Lower Merion would be fortunate to seize upon Stanley’s
breadth of accounting knowledge and unparalleled experience.
