A.J. Kait (Ward 1)

A.J. KaitA.J. Kait is a 22-year resident of Lower Merion, where he and his wife are raising their two young daughters. He is a businessman and former U.S. Army officer who understands public service and chose to run for Commissioner out of concern with the level of spending and dramatic tax increases in Lower Merion. Drawing on his experience as a management consultant, strategy executive, entrepreneur, and non-profit board leader, A.J. will bring a much-needed dose of creative problem solving, transparency, responsiveness, and clear prioritization to the board.

Ray Fullbright (Ward 3)

Ray FullbrightRay’s reliability and steady temperament ideally suit him to effectively represent Ward 3 on Lower Merion’s Board of Commissioners. Ray is not a politician. He is a man with military and business experience who will stand up for our interests. By focusing on Ward 3 residents and using old-fashioned common sense, Ray will make local government work more effectively for us.

 

 

 

 

 

Beth Ladenheim (Ward 7)

Beth LadenheimBeth is not a political insider. She is a fifteen-year resident of Lower Merion, a mother of three and an active volunteer in the Wynnewood community. She is a former faculty member of Hahnemann University and currently a dance fitness instructor. Beth chose to run for Commissioner out of a strong concern with the level of spending and dramatic annual property tax increases in Lower Merion. Beth will work with both political parties to provide a much needed common-sense voice on the Board and to ensure that our community remains a vibrant place for families to live and businesses to thrive.

 

 

 

Richard Kaufman (Ward 9)

Richard KaufmanRichard is a pulmonary and critical-care physician and a 28-year resident of Bala Cynwyd, where he and his wife Stacey have raised two wonderful children, Sarra and Daniel. He coached travel teams in the Lower Merion Soccer Club for many years, including two league champions. He is a member of the Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd. Richard’s college years were spent as a proud Penn State Nittany Lion, and he is a graduate of the Temple University School of Medicine. Richard is a successful small-business owner concerned with the direction our township is headed.

Lou Barson (Ward 13)

Lou BarsonLou is a businessman, not a career politician. He attended Penn Valley, Welsh Valley, Harriton and Temple University. As owner and operator of Hymie's Merion Deli as well as 13 other food outlets, where he has created and managed over 120 local jobs, Lou knows how to roll up his sleeves and solve problems.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY CANDIDATES

Jenny Brown (Commissioner)

As a Lower Merion Commissioner, Jenny Brown has never voted for a tax increase, instead offering smart ideas to reduce spending. She is a municipal business tax attorney who heads her own firm, helping governments increase their revenues without raising taxes or fees. Jenny grew up in Montgomery County and lives in Lower Merion Township with her husband and two children.

Bruce Castor (Commissioner)

Bruce Castor has led the fight to control county spending, opposing increases to county debt, and opposing every attempt to raise taxes. He was elected to two terms as Montgomery County’s District Attorney prior to being elected County Commissioner in 2007. A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Bruce currently lives in Lower Salford Township with his wife and two children.

Risa Vetri Ferman (District Attorney)

Under Risa Ferman’s leadership, the District Attorney’s office has achieved a 98% conviction rate. She established the Elder Abuse Unit to target criminals who prey upon senior citizens and was the driving force behind the creation of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center. District Attorney Ferman also co-founded the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project (MCAP), which provides pro-bono legal services to abused children.

Moon Ahn (Clerk of Courts)

Moon Ahn is a Lansdale-based attorney concentrating on business and immigration law. He served as a Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney and serves as Vice Chairman of the Montgomery County Bar Association's Diversity Committee.

Stewart Greenleaf, Jr. (Controller)

Stewart Greenleaf, Jr. is a commercial litigator at Elliott Greenleaf & Siedzikowski in Blue Bell. Named a Pennsylvania SuperLawyers “Rising Star” from 2008-2011, Stewart is a Montgomery County native and lifelong resident who now lives in Upper Moreland with his wife and their two children.

Dr. Gordon Clement (Coroner)

Dr. Gordon Clement is a a board-certified surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a retired Navy Captain with 28 years experience as a military surgeon. A Director of Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, Dr. Clement initiated the EMS System for Montgomery County.

William E. Donnelly (Prothonotary)

Bill Donnelly is eminently qualified, having held the Prothonotary position from 1984 to 2007. During his six-term tenure, the office was recognized as one of the most technically advanced in the nation. Mr. Donnelly reduced the size of staff while improving the efficiency of increased court filings.

Nancy J. Becker (Recorder of Deeds)

Since 2004, Nancy Becker has implemented new revenue sources, saved taxpayers hundreds of dollars, increased efficiency and protected residents from real estate fraud. Her office is nationally recognized as a model of document management. She was elected by peers statewide as President of the PA Recorder of Deeds Association.

Patricia Mosesso (Register of Wills)

Patricia Mosesso founded Morgan Wentworth, recruiting and placing attorneys in a county wide business since 2001. She served as Director of Legal Affairs, managing a 40+ member law department for 15 years, for the Henkel Corporation. Patricia has instructed paralegals at the American Center for Technical Arts and Sciences.

Eileen Whalon Behr (Sheriff)

Eileen Behr currently serves as Montgomery County’s Sheriff and has served the public for more than three decades. In her 34 years with the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, she rose to become the first female Chief of Police in county history. Sheriff Behr has served as Emergency Management Coordinator as well as Instructor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Officer Training Program.

Chuck Wilson (Treasurer)

Chuck Wilson is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management. He has extensive experience as a corporate controller, managing accounting, finance, treasury and budgeting functions. Currently in his 10th year as a Towamencin Township Supervisor, Chuck has served as Board Chairman and as Treasurer.

STATEWIDE CANDIDATES

Vic Stabile (Superior Court)

Vic Stabile - Candidate for Superior CourtVic Stabile was recommended by the Pennsylvania Bar Association for the Superior Court stating that he is held in high regard by his peers, who commend his integrity, strong work ethic and civility his writing skills are strong and his experience handling cases before the appellate courts is solid. Based on his strong intellect, passion for the law and even temperament, the commission recommends him for a position on the Superior Court. Currently he is a partner with Dilworth Paxson, LLP in Harrisburg, where he practices complex civil and commercial litigation. Vic resides in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania with his family.

 

 

Anne Covey (Commonwealth Court)

Anne Covey - Candidate for Commonwealth CourtIn 2002, Anne Covey was appointed by Governor Mark Schweiker to serve as the first female member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. Anne is the owner of Covey & Associates, P.C. where she practices in all areas of labor and employment law. Anne was recommended by the Pennsylvania Bar Association where they highlighted her good character, integrity and an excellent work ethic. Anne is an accomplished writer who has authored the book, The Workplace Law Advisor, and the law review article entitled, Contribution of the Commonwealth Court to Public Employee Labor Law, which was published in the Widener University School of Law Journal. She currently resides in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her family.
